Where do I begin complaining about…
Well for time being, the story can basically be summed up as such:
…

They are called to the eccentric principal’s office and thankfully, they escape having to shoulder a debt for their entire life. In return they have to help out a special investigations unit.

Thankfully with the help of Wikipe- I mean the local librarian, they manage to swallow the situation, or at least get the basics down

Which was a cause for even more romcom
(by the way, in context this is a delusion and did not happen… well sort of)

Everything is settled, the protag and the heroine who were previously fighting manages to reconcile.
Yeah uh, you may wonder “what exactly is wrong with the story” but see, this is where the good parts stop.
Ley Line was honestly a very enjoyable story. It came off being somewhat cheesy but that’s fine as the character interactions were heart warming to watch. That all stopped as soon as individual routes happened however.
In the route I entered, the flow was essentially like this:
Our protagonist confesses that he is using a fake name and whatnot. Relatively surprising though it doesn’t quite match with the previous parts of the story. Almost sounds like a makeshift change if you ask me but anyway.
We learn of the heroines reason for entering the school, searching for her important friend who went missing.
Our protagonist is struck with a cupid arrow which causes him to fall in love with the first person he sees, the heroine in this case.
Antics which somehow end up tracing up to a hscene
…
and then the story ended.
What about the missing friend?
Romantic developments?
Expanding the world?
The rest of the story in general?
Just, what?
I did find that the storyline was reminiscent of a LN storyline but I didn’t think it would also end in the same way, it felt as if they suddenly decided to pull the plug on the game just as the individual route started. Unfortunately, it was no bug nor mistake, that was with no doubt all the game had. I assume, or hope they plan to provide a sequel but nonetheless, its honestly been a long time since I’ve seen such a ridiculously sudden ending.
All that can be said is that it was a huge waste of potential. I greatly enjoyed the character interactions, setting and mysteries (even if they weren’t anything difficult to figure out). It simply had a nice atmosphere to the story and flowed along fairly smoothly. I never thought that the story would come to an end in this manner.
Unfortunately I suppose this is also a part of the sufferings for reading VNs.
Next game will likely be 創世奇譚アエリアル, I’m frankly uninterested in it but for the sake of things, since Joker was fairly enjoyable in its own way. From the reviews I’ve read so far, at the very least it won’t pull the carpet on me as Ley Line did.
