Also sidetracked by Ayakashi which I decided to read solely out of nostalgia.
For Koiiro it had average story/setting, Good characters and somewhat kinky hscenes. The routes weren’t very long but thankfully, the pacing was done decently enough so that you didn’t really feel it was very rushed. Not much negative parts to speak of but at the same time, everything else was pretty average. Well it was pretty enjoyable either way.
After that, for the only reason of nostalgia from coming by it and recalling watching the first few episodes of the anime years back when it aired… only to never follow it and never even see it mentioned a single time in anime discussions for years to come, I decided to pick up the VN to see how it is.
Contrary to my expectations, it was actually a decent story. Nothing spectacular and the art is pretty dated but it wasn’t bad outside of the protagonist going into full angst for most of the story. First for his dear dead childhood friend, next for the person who murdered his childhood friend. That didn’t win any positive points from me. Reading it however made me feel that its been a fairly long while since I’ve read a story that included rape, gore or generally not very bright elements in the story.
That said, we only have romances left for October releases. Considering how much I had to say about Koiiro, I’m not sure if I even want to write about it unless it’s something of interest.
