My thoughts on it in the end pretty much didn’t change from my impressions. Maybe worsened a bit, but in hindsight I realized that I was somewhat wrong to put that much expectations into it in the first place.
Didn’t quite realize that Galactica had the previous record of producing Gokudou no Hanayome which actually had a (relatively) interesting premise but ended up being painfully average or plain bad. Should have realized by the art but that was relatively forgettable so all I thought was “this art seems somewhat familiar”.
Anyway, on the positive side, I enjoy stories where they expand on every character arc by arc as it fleshes out the characters more to let you like… or flat out hate them even more. This did something resembling that as the common route made you go through various arcs that mostly focus around certain heroines. As a price of this, it usually means the actual routes themselves are pretty short but well, this mainly depends on how well they handle things.
So I actually relatively enjoyed the common route. The ending was pretty disappointing however since it feels like after all that mysterious build up they practically info dumped everything you needed to know and moved on the story with some cheesy drama here and there.
The gameplay didn’t improve the slightest either, I at least expected for the enemies to come with some different patterns at some point to make use of the game system but… no, I basically spent the entire time dealing with the same combinations. Makes it a matter of time to win after you’ve memorized the pattern and respond accordingly to it. It made me feel like I was fighting slimes from the start to end.
In the end it felt pretty in line with their previous work, a relatively interesting premise to things but the content itself isn’t anything more than average.
I’m more or less done with the VNs I’m interested in reading but as there’s still some time left, starting up ヒミツのオトメ next.
