Eve is cute, I’m glad it’s over and hopefully I won’t be seeing frustration like this for the rest of the month.

A dog girl is fine too.

Let’s see… The characters are good, the setting is just fine, the art is splendid, the system is smooth, the story is acceptable.

When looking at things like that, I can’t help but stop and wonder why can’t I bring myself to like it that much.

I would probably trace the reasons to the initial cynicism caused by Seiichi’s unique powers  compounded with how badly they handled the drama at some points. Touko was especially bad with the whole “I have a problem but I don’t want to tell you about it however I’ll be sure to make it obvious that I have a problem at every given chance”. It’s not unusual but drama like that makes me scream JUST BLOODY SPIT IT OUT ALREADY. From the bottom of my heart I wish that some characters would learn the wonders of communication because half of the time most of the angst can be avoided if they properly laid things out from the start.

If I had to say, Eve’s route was probably the best despite Seiichi’s hetare level getting multiplied by a factor of 10 during the early half of her route. Thankfully he manned up towards the latter half making for a pretty pleasant end. Contrary to the other heroines, there was much less angst and drama for Eve, it was mostly limited to Seiichi mulling over “does Eve actually like me?!” rather than Eve herself causing the drama.

Complaints aside, it was actually a pretty good VN once you set aside the flaws. Eve was cute, also Eve was cute and did I mention Eve was cute?

HNNNNNN–
The person you are looking for is no longer present as he fell from a severe heart attack and has been sent to the local hospital for emergency treatment.

I wish that scene was longer, innocent Eve was… Ahem, where was I?

Most of the stories were good up until the confession and things usually went downhill from there on because of the drama. Akane spouting fire and Touko freezing the surroundings because of embarrassment is a pretty unique way of showing how embarrassed they are, or well, more like a dangerous way. Half of me was wondering if Akane would blow Seiichi up during a h-scene. The side characters were great fun which led to disappointment when I found out that there’s only 4 routes in the story. My FD with side character routes is where? Or no, better yet, harem route since there were actually brief points showing the other heroines heart broken because Seiichi didn’t pick them. Childhood friends are pretty pitiable in that area.

All in all I would say it had potential to be a pretty good story but the potential was ruined half way in, I’d call it an average, perhaps relatively forgettable story and leave it at that. Those who could stand the drama would probably enjoy the story more than I did but for time being I’m just glad that’s over so I can move on. There’s a fair bit of December releases to go through.

Next up is ヒメゴト・マスカレイド… or so I’d like to say but I heard some nice things about ガンナイトガール so I’m going for that first.

An older Eve is fine too.

  1. I agree that Eve had the best story (doesn’t actually help that i read her route the first), but Touko’s lack of common sense (what being a couple is or not exactly knowing what dating is) was rather cute as well.
