For every good Purple Software game there seems to be one or two landmines that come out afterwards. Nevertheless it’s still true that they can produce pretty nice games here and there and in this case… It was worth saving this one for last after all.
There isn’t actually much to talk about regarding this VN other than the part that all of the characters are great.
The story has references to Alice in wonderland (see the costumes), revolves around lucid dreaming and… and… I think that’s about it. Oh right, the common route appears to be peeking into what problems each of the heroines… minus Alice and Maia, hold. I guess this gives you an idea of what the routes themselves will be about. It’s a bit saddening that judging from the cover, Maia is probably just about the second most important heroine while Alice is, after all, the most important one.
With that said, I do wonder if this story is going to magically revive the dead or happily live in the dream world when it comes to Alice and Maia. Alice aside, though it isn’t clear yet, the story so far seems to indicate that Maia is dead. In fact whether or not both of them aren’t just figments of the protagonist, Tooru’s imagination or not is up for question. Well knowing this story, probably not.
Reading it makes me want to experience lucid dreaming one day though. The things you can do in a dream…
