Let’s see… if you came in expecting a new Hatsuyuki Sakura then you might not exactly find what you’re looking for. To begin with the writer is different anyway.
But even then, the whole mysterious happenings concept is still floating around and the characters are pretty charming in their own way. The protagonist also belongs to the “rougher” types with him preferring to stay away from groups if possible.
The entire story boils down to being about these characters being stuck with curses that cause them to have certain quirks, mostly in relation to the seven sins. They can suddenly fall asleep, they can get lazy all of a sudden and they can overeat. Well you get the idea.
They want to solve it and in order to do so it involves performing a ceremony during Tanabata to access to “Karumaruka”. Whatever that is supposed to be.
If it succeeds they can go back to their normal lives. Yay.
The protagonist Kaito was involuntarily dragged into this but eventually gave in after hearing the details. His “curse” is wrath and essentially revolves around him snapping and destroying thingss. To be honest once the curse was revealed, or even before that, rather than actually being some sort of anti-social guy…
He sort of just feels like a tsundere.
From my impressions so far, while there is an underlying plot regarding the whole curses and all… It’s really hard to say where it’s going to go. Rather than a serious story, I’m feeling a bit like it’s going to focus more on the characters, making it more a of charage than anything else.
It’s like… like.. I don’t know how to say it, there’s just those sort of stories where there’s a plot in the setting but it never really gets anywhere until the true route and most of it is simply treated as a convenient plot device to trigger developments in the story. You can’t say there’s no story but you can’t really say the story was all that important as it stays in the background for most of it.
Basically, we won’t be seeing a touching story like Hatsuyuki or anything along those lines unless the story pulls some twists and goes beyond my expectations.
Considering how the comments on the story have been looking like however, it’s likely better to just treat it as a charage until the true route or something surprising comes along.
All of that aside…
