To be honest this is more of a stalled story since I was supposed to read a few more routes before summing up my thoughts but then my interest went elsewhere and never did come back to it. I still don’t intend to resume it yet either so I decided that I might as well make a post now.
Note that since I’ve only completed one route in the story so it’s hard to say anything about the rest of the routes.
Despite the largely different context and setting the story takes place in, the story is actually still pretty similar to Seven Wonder’s previous game 太陽のプロミア.
In both cases the story decides to drag in some out of the world things into a setting that looked normal at the start. In fact, to some extent I wonder if this story actually takes place in the same world. I don’t remember enough of their previous game to really make the connection though.
The protagonist Saizou is a perfectly normal high school student that also happens to be from a family of ninjas, one of the few surviving ninja clans in the modern age whose work has now shifted to much tamer jobs compared to before.
His normal school life quickly came collapsing as he met Himeria, a princess of a “far” away country that has the ability to fly around. Later on you find out that by “far” she really means that she’s a princess of a galactic kingdom.
Following his meeting with Himeria, he meets the heroines one by one, a girl who hides the fact that she has monstrous strength and can grow horns, a long lost childhood friend who is the daughter of a genius scientist that invented an android that looks exactly like her and finally the revelation that his long best friend who has a fiancee is… actually a woman.
Frankly in my case, Himeria’s route, the story felt fairly rushed since developments were pretty much squeezed in without any build up to it. So by the end all I really felt was “eh, that’s it?”
I don’t know how other routes played out but in any case, I really do think that the story suffers from missing a true route of sorts to bring everything together as the story felt largely incomplete and I don’t think this has anything to do with not finishing other routes since there’s nothing to tie all of the routes together.
A bit of a shame because the story was otherwise great, it simply flopped at the ending. Still the story is more or less worth the read even if only for the common route as it has a large cast of colorful characters.
Oh well, better luck next time.
