時計仕掛けのレイライン -残影の夜が明ける時- – Thoughts

Oh wow that took me by surprise. It was actually story-wise pretty good and at least this time around since you know there’s still more ahead, the place it ended the story at is much more acceptable than before.

So far this has been a month of some surprisingly decent stories. In the previous Ley line things ended abruptly without resolving much at all, I had no knowledge of it being a story with multiple parts either so it was generally disappointing as it seemed half finished. Especially disappointing because the character chemistry was wonderful or rather, it pressed all the right buttons for me.

Thankfully it was eventually announced that there would be a sequel and we finally arrive at this day. This time around the story delves into the real meat of things. There’s various surprising twists which I don’t quite feel like spoiling at the moment but generally, it was very entertaining. Though I’m pretty sure anyone who was a bit sharper probably would’ve noticed half of the twists, some of it was genuinely unexpected for me. That’s an achievement in its own right because many stories in this medium tend to have foreshadowing that is as subtle as a flying pink elephant. With that said, what was truly enjoyable wasn’t quite the plot but more the character interactions as mentioned in the previous Ley line. Since I find just about all of the characters very likable, even the casual conversation becomes an enjoyable read.

On another note in developments, I truly didn’t expect the principal to show up as a heroine. No matter how you look at it she’s not heroine material but well, it happened. Also surprising is that the real Michiru briefly appeared towards the end. I’m all for more brocon little sisters, that pairing seems to hardly ever go wrong. Since she’ll probably get a more prominent appearance in the next and hopefully last part of the series, that’s another thing to look forward to.

All in all it’s definitely a recommendable read since it solidly ranks in above average for me and even more so if you enjoyed the companies previous works (Natsuiro drops, Flyable heart). That said, some may want to wait until it’s finished unless they want to sit here waiting for the next installment like me. :_;

Speaking of Flyable, I don’t know if it’s on purpose or they slacked off in background drawing but some backgrounds in Flyable heart showed up when they left the school. No wonder I felt like I had seen those places somewhere before.

  1. Is there a place I can read a spoiler summary of the first game so I can skip straight to the second game? I was so bored of the first, it was not that good.

  2. Actually when you install the game, there is a option in the main screen that will give you a general outline of the previous game.
